Roger Bagnall

(من مواليد 19 أغسطس 1947 في سياتل)

أستاذ الكلاسيكيات والتاريخ في جامعة كولومبيا من عام 1974 حتى عام 2007. وعندما تولى منصب أول مدير للمعهد لدراسة العالم القديم (عيساو) في جامعة نيويورك.

التعليم :

1964 – 1968 , جامعة ييل : BA، 1968 .

1968 – 1972 , جامعة تورنتو : MA، 1969؛ دكتوراه، 1972 .

1970 – 1971 , المدرسة الأمريكية في الدراسات الكلاسيكية في أثينا (عضو مشارك).

قبل أن ينضم إلى هيئة التدريس في جامعة نيويورك في عام 2007 كان البروفيسور استاذ اليونانية واللاتينية وأستاذ التاريخ في جامعة كولومبيا، حيث كان يدرس لمدة 33 عاما. خلال وقت من الأوقات شغل منصب عميد كلية الدراسات العليا في الآداب والعلوم ورئيس قسم الكلاسيكيات. تلقى تعليمه في جامعة ييل وجامعة تورنتو،

1998 : جامعة ييل: مكتبة بينيك للكتب النادرة والمخطوطات الدرجة ماجستير في Papyrology.

2005 (الخريف) : جامعة كاليفورنيا، بيركلي، Sather أستاذ الأدب الكلاسيكي .

2007 : معهد لدراسة العالم القديم في جامعة نيويورك أستاذ التاريخ القديم ومدير ليفي ليون (2007-16) .
