عضو هيئة التدريس في جامعة نبراسكا في أوماها، قسم الدراسات الدينية،
وتشمل اهتماماته البحثية والتدريسية النظرية والمنهجية في الدراسة الأكاديمية للدين والفكر الإسلامي الحاسم والمسلمين في الغرب والصوفية الأدبية والمؤسسية والأديان الصينية وحقوق الإنسان والدراسات الإعلامية والأديان المقارنة. وهو متخصص في تطوير الإسلام في الصين والتاريخ الفكري الصيني الإسلامي.
