عالم دين في جامعة فلوريدا يدرس الدين في الأمريكتين وزميل طالب دراسات عليا بمركز الدراسات الإسلامية العالمية.

يركز عمله الأكاديمي على الإسلام في الأمريكتين ، والمسلمين البورتوريكيين ، والمسلمين اللاتينيين ، والدين الأميركي في نصف الكرة الغربي ، والدين المتروقي ، والتقاطعات بين الدين والثقافة ، والعلاقات المسيحية الإسلامية ، والمسيحية العالمية ، والأقليات المسلمة ، والأساليب الإثنوغرافية ومظاهر الدين.

قام بنشر أعمال حول اليهودية في أمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي ، والدين والثقافة الشعبية ، ومواضيع أخرى ذات صلة.

وهو عضو في الأكاديمية الأمريكية للدين ، وجمعية دراسات أمريكا اللاتينية ، وجمعية الدراسات الكاريبية ، ثيتا ألفا كابا ، وعضو أبحاث مشارك في مجموعة الدراسات الإسلامية وايكاتو.
