عضو هيئة التدريس في جامعة لوفان الكاثوليكية ، مركز الدراسات الشرقية "معهد المستشرقين في لوفان" ،
يدرس العلوم والفلسفة العربية بشكل أساسي ويركز على نقل هذه المعرفة من العالم العربي إلى الغرب اللاتيني في العصور الوسطى. وهو متخصص في تاريخ ما يسمى بالعلوم "غامض" ، وخاصة الكيمياء والسحر وعلم التنجيم.
