عاش و درس في سوريا و روسيا. وقد ظهر عمله في العالم الإسلامي ، ومجلة التاريخ الاقتصادي والاجتماعي للشرق ، وأرابيكا ، والشريعة الإسلامية والمجتمع ، وكتاب أكسفورد للاهوت الإسلامي.
