حاصل على درجة الدكتوراه في دراسات الشرق الأوسط من جامعة إكستر (معهد الدراسات العربية والإسلامية، 2009) ، وعلى درجة الماجستير في علم الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية (ماجستير، 1999) وعلى درجة البكالوريوس (مع مرتبة الشرف) في القانون والسياسة (ليسانس الحقوق، 1998 ) من جامعة كوينز في بلفاست.
