مايكل غوميز
Michael Gomez
أستاذ التاريخ الشرق الأوسط والدراسات الإسلامية في جامعة نيويورك .
حاصل على شهادة الدكتوراه من جامعة شيكاغو عام 1985.
شغل منصب المدير المؤسس لجمعية الدراسة الشتات الأفريقي في جميع أنحاء العالم منذ إنشائها في عام 2000 إلى عام 2007،
ويشغل حاليا محرر سلسلة من الدراسات كامبردج في الشتات الأفريقي، مطبعة جامعة كامبريدج ,
وقد شغل أيضا منصب رئيس أقسام التاريخ في كل من جامعة نيويورك وكلية سبيلمان ،
وشغل منصب رئيس اللجنة العلمية الدولية لليونسكو لمشروع طريق تجارة الرقيق من عام 2009 إلى عام 2011.
