حاصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في تاريخ الأديان من جامعة فيرجينيا
يقوم بتدريس دورات في الدراسات الإسلامية.
تتركز أبحاثه على تطوير أوائل الخوارج والاباضية ، وبلاد ما بين النهرين وشمال أفريقيا. كما يقيم الدكتور دورات عن المذهب الشيعي، والإسلام في أمريكا الشمالية، الشريعة الإسلامية، والنبي محمد والقرآن.
