والتر لاكير زئيف
Walter Laqueur
(من مواليد 26 مايو 1921)
هو مؤرخ أميركي ومحلل سياسي.
السيرة الذاتية :
ولد لاكير في بريسلاو ، سيليزيا السفلى ، بروسيا ( بولندا )، من اسرة يهودية. في عام 1938، غادر ألمانيا لاسرائيل ايام الانتداب البريطاني لفلسطين . أصبح والديه، الذين لم يتمكنوا من المغادرة، ضحايا المحرقة .
عاش في إسرائيل من 1938 إلى 1953. وفي عام 1944، انتقل إلى القدس، حيث عمل صحفيا حتى عام 1953، وغطى فلسطين وبلدان أخرى في الشرق الأوسط .
منذ عام 1955عاش في لندن . وكان مؤسس ومحرر، مع جورج موس ، لمجلة التاريخ المعاصر والمسح من 1956 إلى 1964. وكان مؤسسا أيضا ورئيس تحرير صحيفة اوراق واشنطن . وكان مدير معهد التاريخ المعاصر ومكتبة وينر في لندن 1965-1994،
منذ عام 1969 كان عضوا، ورئيسا لاحقا (حتى 2000)، من مجلس البحوث الدولية من مركز الدراسات الاستراتيجية والدولية دراسات في واشنطن. وكان أستاذ تاريخ الأفكار في جامعة برانديز 1968-1972، وأستاذ جامعي في جامعة جورج تاون في الفترة من 1976 إلى 1988. كما كان أستاذا زائرا للتاريخ في جامعة هارفارد ، و جامعة شيكاغو ، وجامعة تل أبيب و جامعة جونز هوبكنز .
اشتملت اعماله الرئيسية في التعامل مع التاريخ الأوروبي في القرنين 19 و 20، وخاصة التاريخ الروسي و التاريخ الألماني ، فضلا عن تاريخ الشرق الأوسط. ا وقد كتب حول حركة الشباب الألمانية ، الصهيونية ، تاريخ إسرائيل ، و التاريخ الثقافي لجمهورية فايمار و روسيا ، الشيوعية ، المحرقة ، الفاشية ، و التاريخ الدبلوماسي من الحرب الباردة .
وقد ترجمت كتبه إلى العديد من اللغات، وكان واحدا من مؤسسي دراسة العنف السياسي ، حرب العصابات و الإرهاب . وقد ظهرت له تعليقات على الشؤون الدولية في العديد من الصحف والدوريات الأميركية والأوروبية.
