عضو هيئة التدريس في جامعة كارولينا الجنوبية، قسم التاريخ،

حاصل على درجة (PhD, MPhil, MA) في الدراسات الإسلامية من جامعة ييل , وبكالوريوس في الشرق الأوسط اللغات والآداب (الفارسية والسنسكريتية) من جامعة فيرجينيا،

عمل ما بعد الدكتوراه في جامعة أكسفورد وجامعة برينستون.

يتركز اهتمامه البحثي حول :

الفكرالإسلامي الديني والثقافي , العلوم الغامضة في إيران.
