عضو هيئة التدريس في كلية هانتر(امريكا) ، قسم العلوم الاجتماعية .
وهي مؤلفة حائزة على جائزة الإيمان في الاعتدال: الأحزاب الإسلامية في الأردن واليمن (كامبردج 2006) ومؤخرا محرر (مع لاله خليلي) الشرطة والسجون في الشرق الأوسط (كولومبيا / هورست 2010).
وقد ظهرت مقالاتها في السياسة العالمية، والسياسة المقارنة، وسياسة الشرق الأوسط، وتقرير الشرق الأوسط، ومجلة الديمقراطية، ودراسات الحركة الاجتماعية، وغيرها.
وهي عضو في لجنة التحرير والرئيس السابق لمجلس الإدارة (2002-2009) لمشروع البحث والإعلام في الشرق الأوسط (ميريب)، ناشرو تقرير الشرق الأوسط.
وقد أجرت بحوثا في الأردن واليمن ومصر، وقد سافرت على نطاق واسع في جميع أنحاء الشرق الأوسط بدعم من المؤسسة الوطنية للعلوم ومعهد الولايات المتحدة للسلام وبرنامج فولبرايت للعلماء ومجلس بحوث العلوم الاجتماعية وغيرها. وينطوي عملها على نطاق واسع على أسئلة تتعلق بالسياسات المثيرة للجدل، والجغرافيا السياسية، والعدالة، والشرطة، والمعارضة السياسية. وهي حاليا بصدد الانتهاء من كتاب يدرس الاحتجاجات السياسية والشرطة في الأردن منذ عام 1946 وحتى الوقت الحاضر.
