شغل منصب رئيس تحرير مجلة جمعية محي الدين ابن عربي منذ إنشائها في عام 1982 ، وهو أحد مؤسسي شركة أنقا للنشر.
يعمل حالياً كمحرر رئيسي لمعهد الدراسات الإسماعيلية في لندن ، ويعيش في أكسفورد.
وهو متخصص في أعمال ابن عربي وأشخاص من نفس المدرسة.
قرأ التاريخ في كينجز كوليدج ، كامبردج ، ثم درس في مدرسة بشارة للتعليم الباطني المكثف في غلوسترشير(بريطانيا) واسكتلندا.
بعد مهنة التدريس ، بدأ الكتابة وألقى محادثات حول فكر ابن العربي في المؤتمرات في جميع أنحاء العالم.
