مارك سيدغويك
Mark Sedgwick
(ولد في لندن، إنجلترا، 20 يوليو 1960)
هو مؤرخ بريطاني متخصص في التقليد والإسلام والصوفية الصوفية والإرهاب.
وهو أستاذ الدراسات العربية والإسلامية في جامعة آرهوس في الدانمرك، وكان أمينا للجمعية الأوروبية لدراسة الغربانية الباطنية.
التعليم :
تلقى تعليمه في انكلترا في مدرسة هارو وكلية ورسستر، أكسفورد.
وقد حصل على درجة الدكتوراه في النرويج في جامعة بيرغن.
وحين كان يعيش في القاهرة في عام 1990، واجه الصوفية من كل من نقشبندية التريقة والميريمية التقليدية. بيد أنه لم ينضم إلى أي من المجموعتين. بدأ البحث عن التقليدية في عام 1996.
انشغل بتدريس التاريخ في الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، مصر.
وفي عام 2007 انتقل إلى جامعة آرهوس، الدنمارك كمنسق لوحدة الدراسات العربية والإسلامية. كتبه ترجمت إلى الفرنسية والإيطالية والإسبانية والروسية والرومانية والصربية.
وكان عضوا مؤسسا في الجمعية الأوروبية لدراسة الغربانية الباطنية، الذي كان الأمين 2010-16.
تم انتخابه لمجلس إدارة جمعية الشمال الأوروبي لدراسات الشرق الأوسط في عام 2016.
