عالمة أنثروبولوجيا تركز على الإسلام والأنثروبولوجيا الاقتصادية والتهجير / الهجرة في الشرق الأوسط وشرق إفريقيا.
يستكشف عملها التحولات في الحياة الدينية والاقتصادية ، وبناء الهوية ، والتقوى الشخصية.
يتركز عملها بدرجة كبيرة على التقوى الإسلامية في الاقتصاد ، وخاصة المصرفية الإسلامية والتمويل.
كما أستكشف هذه الأسئلة في أوقات التغير الاقتصادي ، مثل رمضان ، في مجالات الاستهلاك المتنازع عليها مثل الحجاب ، والربيع العربي.
تدرس أحدث مشاريعها البحثية حول اللاجئين السوريين في المخيمات الأردنية في الزعتري والأزرق ومدينة سايبر ، وفي التمويل القائم على النتائج في تنزانيا.
لها كتاب بعنوان : "كل يوم تقديس: الإسلام والاقتصاد في الأردن" طبع من قبل مطبعة جامعة كورنيل (2016).
وقد مارست العمل الميداني في عمان ، الأردن ، من سبتمبر 2007 حتى يونيو 2009. وحصلت على درجة الماجستير من جامعة جنوب فلوريدا في علم الإنسان التطبيقي في عام 2005.
